Oshun
Botanical perfume of the goddess of gold, honey and sacred rivers
Goddesses Collection · Vibrational Aromatherapy
This botanical perfume from Ananke’s Aroma of the Goddesses collection embodies one of the oldest and most luminous archetypes of the sacred feminine: the Yoruba goddess who, according to myth, was rejected by her sixteen brothers during the creation of the world. Oshun then retired to the moon in full sovereignty, and returned to save the earth when they discovered that without his sweetness nothing stood.
Oshún’s on roll embodies that frequency of beauty and sovereignty. That of the woman who reconciles herself with her own sweetness, who is ready to receive and who adorns herself as a liturgy. That he knows, that his yes has weight.
The goddess Oshún · The archetype of feminine gold
In the Yoruba tradition, one of the deepest and most vivid spiritual worldviews on the African continent, Oshún is the seventeenth of the Irúnmolè. Primordial divinities sent by Olódùmarè, the Genderless Source, to found the world. Father and Mother in one.
She is the goddess of freshwater rivers, love, fertility, gold, honey, beauty and sacred sensuality. Its number is 5. Its color is golden yellow. Their offerings: honey, yellow flowers, river water, mirrors.
Oshun embodies a much deeper cosmogonic principle: that of constructive eros, the harmonic force without which no creation is sustained.
Perfume · An olfactory invocation
Oshun perfume has been composed as an offering. Each oil that makes it up has been chosen not only for its olfactory beauty, but for its specific vibrational frequency.
Olfactory family: Aquatic Floral
Top notes · The spices that light the sacred fire
Cardamom · Allspice · Pink pepper
The aroma opens with three warm spices that help light the fire. They are the call to Shakti, the feminine vital energy that sleeps at the base of the spine and that, when awakened, opens the door to sacred sexuality. Cardamom works on the solar plexus and restores sensuality. Allspice, an ancient aphrodisiac, warms circulation and awakens desire. Pink pepper, sacred to the ancient Incas, teaches you to love inhabiting your own body.
Heart notes · The flowers that sway in the breeze
Ylang-Ylang · Frangipani
Ylang-ylang, the main flower in the perfume, is known in vibrational aromatherapy as the scented salt of the goddess. When a woman looks in the Oshun mirror and only sees herself distorted, ylang-ylang eliminates those distortions, one by one, until the reflection once again resembles the truth. Activates the release of endorphins, unleashes joy, restores lightness and works on sensuality from loving calm. The frangipani, considered in Southeast Asia the flower of immortality, opens the portal of conscious eros, the desire that is born from the full soul.
Background notes · The bridge between lands and worlds
Cocoa · Coconut · Sandalwood · Blue lotus
Cacao and coconut are the two geographical guardians of Oshún: they grow in Africa, her ancestral land, and also in Latin America, where the goddess crossed the ocean with the Yoruba diaspora. Cacao, called by the Mayans food of the gods, opens the heart chakra. The coconut is the maternal hug. Sandalwood, sacred wood, roots the feet to the earth while elevating the soul’s gaze to infinity. And the blue lotus, venerated since ancient Egypt as a sacred flower of the waters, allows quantum travel and connects directly with the rivers ofOshun.
How to perfume yourself · The Oshún ritual
Every time you put on this perfume you are telling your body that it deserves to be wrapped in liquid gold.
Apply it to your wrists, where your pulse beats. Behind your ears, where you listen to your intuition. In the neck, where the voice becomes sweet. And especially on the heart and belly, where Oshun lives.
When putting on perfume, silently say an intention, let yourself be guided by your intuition and trust.
The Goddesses collection · Aroma as a sacred language
Oshun is part of Ananke’s Aroma of the Goddesses collection: a series of artisanal botanical perfumes inspired by archetypes of the sacred feminine from universal mythology.
Each perfume in the collection is an invocation and invitation to a different frequency of the feminine soul. Composed of pure essential oils and absolutes, chosen for their vibrational properties.
At Ananke we understand aroma as a sacred language. As a subtle technology of inner transformation. As a door back to oneself. Add a review
